My name is Joycelyn Williamson, and I am widely recognized by the affectionate nickname 'Lyn' among colleagues and patients alike. My academic journey in the field of Podiatry commenced at the esteemed Birmingham School, Matthew Boulton College, where I embarked on a rigorous course of study. It was here that I diligently pursued my passion for podiatric medicine, culminating in my graduation in the year 2000 with a distinguished first-class honours degree. This academic achievement marked the beginning of a diverse and rewarding career spanning both the private and public healthcare sectors.
In the years following my graduation, I have had the privilege of engaging in a multifaceted career path. Among my professional endeavors, I spent a decade as a Lecturer at the Birmingham School of Podiatry. It was during this tenure that I furthered my education, earning a Masters Degree in Medical Education. This advanced degree not only enriched my knowledge and skills but also underscored my commitment to excellence in both clinical practice and academic instruction.
In 2015, after making the decision to accept redundancy, I embarked on a new chapter in my professional life by founding Sure Feet Podiatry. This venture allowed me to channel my extensive experience and passion for podiatric medicine into creating a practice that emphasizes quality care and patient wellness. Concurrently, I have continued to contribute to the field through teaching and clinical education. On a part-time basis, I engage in instructing future generations of podiatrists, both within the private sector and through an NHS-funded Podiatry degree course. This dual commitment to practice and education underscores my dedication to advancing the field of Podiatry and ensuring the highest standards of care for patients.
